About The East St. Pauls Lion Club

The East St Paul Lions Club held its charter night on June 27th1996, with a membership of 40 . There are presently 25 members who meet on the second Wednesday of every month at 6:30 for a dinner meeting at the Henderson Highway Legion 215 Maxwell King Drive. The Board of Directors meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month at the same location.

 The International objectives of the Lions is to create and foster a spirit of understanding between the peoples of the world to promote the principals of good government and good citizenship, to take an active interest in civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community; to unite the clubs in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding; to provide a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest and to encourage service minded people to service their community without personal financial reward, promoting high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavors.

Some of the Programs we support are;

 The Lions Sight First Program strives to rid the world of preventable and reversible blindness by closing the gap between existing health care infrastructure, training of eye care professionals,  treatment and public education.

 We as a club are actively involved in eye glass collection in our area for distribution to those less fortunate and in need around the world. We have various fundraising activities

that enable us to donate to various programs such as Dog Guides of Canada, Lions Eye Bank, Lions Quest, Lions Cavalcade to name a few.

Some things we have donated to locally are the Skate Board Park, Children’s Hospital Ward upgrade, and a wheelchair lift at the Children’s Museum at the Forks that we are proud of.

The Lions Club of East ST Paul has donated in excess of $500,000 to programs and needy victims. All funds collected by the Lions Club go to support our selected  organizations. Nothing is spent on administration costs. These donations are made possible thanks to the great community and business support we receive when our

club is out fundraising and promoting Lionism.

 Lions make a strong service commitment to young people through several International Programs such as Lions Quest a Drug abuse prevention curriculum. Leos Clubs which offer community service activities and supports a special literary and cultural project. Youth Exchange where students travel to foreign countries and live with host families to experience cultures different from their own

Feel free to contact any of our executive to find out more about us or if you are interested in joining our club. We are always looking for new members with fresh new ideas to make us a better club
